Create an annotated tag for version v3.1.0 with a descriptive message and push it to the remote origin repository v3.1.0

Step 1: Navigate to the repository

cd /home/interview/repo

Step 2: View current commit to be tagged

git log --oneline -1

Shows the commit where the tag will be created.

Step 3: Create annotated tag

git tag -a v3.1.0 -m "Release version 3.1.0 - Production ready"

Creates an annotated tag at current HEAD with a message. Annotated tags include tagger name, email, and date.

Step 4: Verify tag was created

git tag

Should display v3.1.0 in the list.

Step 5: Push tag to remote

git push origin v3.1.0

Pushes the specific tag to the remote repository. Tags are not pushed by default with git push.
